Every tree in the countryside spoke to me, saying,
HOLY! HOLY! In the forest, enchantment...
Who can express all of it?

The poet's hope is just a participant in the phenomenon. A great poem.. fabulous imagery. Appreciated the theme and the plot where the poet is just a spectator.

Daniel! ! ! I can always come and refresh myself at the well of your imagination and talent. Today, you took me on a walk in the woods with you and we talked about the nature of being and the unity that may exist between trees and me and thee. And really, Daniel, if we listened closer to the creation would we hear the history of ages building ring by ring in their trunks? Your poem gave me quite a lift today. Thank you. 10 million stars over this piece! !

I'm glad for the lift this poem gave you, Susan! It lifted me writing it. I don't think there is ever an end-point to gratitude, and the trees are such wonderful companions in our lives. The Twin Cities has parks with trees providing shade and companionship but everywhere there are groves of trees, solitary trees, trees lining boulevards, etc. AND now I learn they communicate with each other and us. I told this to a friend, and he said firmly, Well, of course, this has always been true. Amen to that.

Nature can be responsive at times but it can also be totally indifferent. Humans specially poets, artists and thinkers have always tried to communicate with nature for inspiration n growth. Nature gets us into a contemplative mood. Observing its subtle mood shifts or its obvious changes can teach us a lot about life. How the poet seeks a communication with trees is man's quest for peace n light. When the material world doesn't give us answers, we retreat to nature. And it's very consoling. A casual stroll among trees may lead to soul's awakening. A beautiful work. A 10.

Today people will plant 25 maple trees in one of the streets here - celebrating so the holiday - the Day of Russia! So 25 more trees will grow and bring joy to people and would speak directly to our souls, meaning HOLY! HOLY!
