The metaphor of the empty plate is heart breaking and this poem evokes the desperation of unfortunate people in a cruel world. The last rhyming couplet really wraps up a skillfully written poem. 10 love Karin

I love the emphasis on how everyone is affected no matter their location or physical characteristics. Such a sad thing that it still exists to this day and probably always will. Great skill and restraint in here.
