The Sunflower Poem by Vidya Murali

The Sunflower

Flowers in the garden
Bloom at the dawn
Cheer at the sun
The sun cheers too
He shines very kind and
Rejoices the tender flowers!

The sun becomes hot
To prove his mighty!
The delicate flowers
Bow their petals
Request thesun
Not to be so harsh!
The sun grins again
Not to be so kind!
The flowers dry
After a long cry!

There stands a flower
Very unique, very brave!
Looks at the sun
Smiles and sways
So humble, so courageous!
He smiles too
At her patience and confidence!
She turns to his side
He smiles for her so wide
Till at his twilight!
As the sun goes to rest
The flower waits
Till the daybreak
To smile at the sun again
And her name is Sunflower!
