The Sun That Rose From The West Poem by G. Akanji Olaniyi

The Sun That Rose From The West

It is a sun that rose from the west
Something that looks anticlockwise
It carries a negative sign
Simply upsetting the balance
Challenging established laws and facts
Refuting all known theories
At war with generally accepted notions
It bears no goods for all
The wind that strikes cold and harsh
Sending all particles in random motion
With no specific direction
A blast
Two
Three
Four
Many
More
When it began, it met our innocence
Its posture now is stark arrogance
And it is right in our presence
It is setting, as the earth rotates backward
Gathering energy in its wake
Making straight for the east
The trouble that envelopes the globe
A fear we all harbor, abhor and carry around
