The Stranger Poem by anais vionet

The Stranger

She knew she wasn't the
first shy girl conned beneath
a scintillant moon.

Why do boys lie so
- inveigling fabrications
- hoping to impress?

Why interlace fibs,
when, from first sight, she had longed
for his carnal lips?

Now doubts danced - as if
evil spirits were called and
asked to watch, and gloat.

"I can't talk to you
again, " she said, "after all
- you're a stranger."

She doubted he cared
- she doubted everything, like
she had a soiled heart.

What's worse than finding out you've been lied to - tricked?

Being tricked is of course worse than being simply 'lied to'. 'from first sight, she had longed for his carnal lips' - A good, poetic expression.

Well, tricks and lies are part of the game too. A really good poem

Unfortunately love is a game. You cant play it being lame. Despite this you have to fall in love all the same. Boys lie girls lie Adam lied Eve lied. Husbands lie wives lie. You just have to try to pry the lies sometimes you cry but when the right boy comes you will know. Good poem as usual. Down to earth and about real teens. Well done and lie back to them pesky boys.
