The Starlings Are Taking My Garden! Poem by Alan Sandham

The Starlings Are Taking My Garden!

So - the Magpies took the park (q.v.) ,
As the street-smart foxes bark, you see
A signal that nature is taking back my garden.

In circumstances such as these,
Inter-species rivalries
Will surely harden.

Flocks of Starlings in my trees
Destroy my precious peace,
Fast running out of behaviors I can pardon.

The Sparrows feel as I,
But, unlike me, they'll fly
To join a more pleasant garden's warden!
