The Stanzas Of My Mind Comments

Rating: 4.7

When stars fell cold
Like chunks of ice out of a fatal sky,
We memorized the hoar frost on gray roofs
And slanted thoughts to fit time's westward curve.

My favorite lines were the first 2 and the last one, they were very moving. I liked how you used the idea of cold throughout the entire poem, it helped tie everything together.

Love your use of metaphor in this nostalgic poem about what might have been - and what will always remain in memory. The title is compelling - and shows us the poem never spoken. Masterful writing. love, Allie xxxxxxxxxxxxx

What a stunning memorial to the victims of the holocaust! As always, memorable, beautiful, highly original, with unforgettable imagery. The lines of the poem makes one remember the great loss to mankind; and it makes you think of the poems never written. It makes one cry.

Do you like Leonard Cohen? Like Mr Cohen, you seem to possess this gift of producing very sophisticated and original imagery. I love the style, the way you contrast the cold outside ('cold', 'ice', 'frost', 'snow', 'white') with internal warmth ('candle') . I was beginning to feel cold when the last line engulfed me with its warmth.Ten for this. Love from Susie
