The Spirit Of Elvis Poem by Richard Wlodarski

The Spirit Of Elvis

Rating: 5.0

Graceland homeland motherland
Land of the free and not so free
Elvis Aaron Presley
King wanting to be free

You've given us your heart and soul
In the name of rock and roll
Perhaps at the cost of your soul

Elvis we rock and rolled into jail houses
Imprisoning our immortal souls
We've felt the pain of your loneliness
As we cried into the wee hours of the morning

Are you lonesome tonight Elvis...
As you feel the pain within our pain
Have you reunited with your precious mother
Within the infinity of glorious heaven

I'm lonesome tonight Elvis...
I feel gut-wrenching pain...
And I thank you
For your essence...
Spirit being...

Graceland still exists since Priscilla had done everything to keep the memory of the great King Of Rock 'n Roll living, Graceland is still open for fans, admirers and visitors.

Sylvia, as much as I loved Elvis, I believe that the true King Of Rock n Roll was Chuck Berry. I saw both in concert. Both were great!
