The Spirit Mood Poem by John a'Beckett

The Spirit Mood

'Everyone here in spirit mood?
Fine. I'm Cecelia McPherson:
hostess of this evening, who’d
like to wish you all The Season’s
Greetings as The Cause tonight
is your delicious dish of reasons
for being there in soul, if not
quite here in real person.

Everywhere the Rinskis, former
owners of our lives, and hosts,
they spent theirs in the room before
they went up out into the blue
“Elsewhere than here” you pose?
Well yes, but ever coming through-
they’d like to hear from those of you
who thrive on ghosts- you do?

Ah! Now The Reason We Are Here
is here- one Toby Globyle Stone.
You'll find his non-existence
on his missing mobile phone.
Born, bred, he forever “has to fly”
A mother had him somewhere, dear.
God owns the reason why.

And Then- in paranormal profile:
is Petulia Pims, invisible and low.
Why her physique is in absentius
you’ll probably already know:
Silence: Blue Mute, a glow-style
from the top rung of the shelves-
there's a bit of her in all of us
so let’s talk among our selves.

But let me last invent a purpose
our post-person’s hardly here.
What? Adrian is conceptuality
he came to mind quite avidly,
half-haling from the atmosphere
Not here in actual person, for
he doesn't really have to be”
