The Source Poem by Ogolla Enock

The Source

goal, guts, and guidance are the determinants
of one's success. The magnitude of the goal,
the amplitude of the gut, and the clarity of the guide.
But it's the Lord God who elevates the goals,
empowers the guts, and gives the absolute guide.

The Lord God is the source
and sustainer of all good things.
the longevity of a person's success
is a function of his allegiance to God

To have God is to have ‘good,
so to get good, get God.
But of what use is good or God
if you don't make the best of it?

There is no room for two on one throne.
It's either you or God. Decide! If it's you,
go ahead and play god. But gods don't grumble
So don't grumble when things begin to crumble.

If it's God then let God be the Lord.
For God is at His best when He is the Lord.
There is no honor in suffering from
scarcity yet you limit the source.

Things fall in perfect order when
when God is given His proper place.
But people are often overworked
and defeated and their faith despised
when God is sidelined.

If you choose to bow, bow low or go
Either God is Lord and supreme or He is no God at all.
It's better if a person discarded God entirely than
to declare His name and yet deny His sovereignty.

Blessed is the man whom the Lord God his Lord.
The best shall follow Him all the days of his life.
Though he may toil amidst thorns and thistles
And even cross the Jordan with nothing but a walking stick

Lord God clears the path His soldiers tread,
And rewards the sweat of the faithful and diligent.
He shall never cause him to return empty-handed
This is the ancient secret to well-balanced success.
