the soul breathes the air of the ages
it is the legacy of wisdom
it is the pain of birth and death
it is the silence of midnight //Verses to learn by heart.Bravo Barry.
Dear Barry, I can assure you through my studies on literary critic, although I am not a poet-I just write down verses-That you are a real poet, a true poet. You have the talent of a poet.May be not all of your poems are good. But the most of them are. There are poets with a great name, who have not written more than 5,6, say 8, not more texts which could be in a way called poems, . Our Seferis who won the nobel prize has not written more. The great, indeed, Cavafis wrote only 154 to be published. The best ones are not more than fourty. If you have not read Cavafis do read it.Edmond Keeley's @Sheppard's translation into englich is to be found in every library in U.S.//So I do not exclude you someday to be recognized as agreat poet.I do not doubt that you are one.Do nor read many.See your poems once or twice again and work on them.As shorter the better.Make a cataloge of the poems you think are of your best.Do say a word ''against'' the other ones ...prepare the ground to be recognized like a great poet.Believe me you are.Such words grom my mouth have passed my dent's fence less than ten times. Best greetings
