The Songs Of Those Days Poem by Muniroh Omotosho

The Songs Of Those Days

Rating: 3.7

The Songs of those days,
how beautiful it is to listen to the old songs of the past.
It's like you should listen to it forever.

The songs of those days,
how wonderful they were.
They were as if I was sitting on an Island,
looking at the sunset and the ocean- dancing so beautifully.
How I wish I could listen to them forever.

The songs of those days,
how they made me feel like doing good for the rest of my life.
How they taught both the young and the old.
They flow so beautifully like the beautiful soft wind after rain falls.
The beautiful songs are not the ones of those days,
but the commencement of modernity.

But the songs of these days,
keep pumping the torrent of blood in me.
As disturbing as they could be.
Nothing to learn from them.
My generations suffering in perfidy.
How I wish these songs could end the way they started.
But do you claim it possible?

The songs of these days,
has damaged many lives.
But we have no choice than to live in them
with nothing to do with them.

The songs of those days,
only if they could last forever.
But they continue to die away
vanishing in front of us as if being taken away by the wind.

The songs of those days,
I dream to live with the songs of those days.

This is a wonderful didactic poem. It covers the sensational brutality in today's decadent songs in contrast to the olden days. Keep it up young poet.
