The Song Of The Island Waves Poem by Hebert Logerie

The Song Of The Island Waves

After a long absence, over thirty years
I returned to the nest to visit the region
And the cousins who weren't there then
It was fun to be passionately at home again.

When the night comes, after a family gathering
Tired, it was time to rest on the fluffy full bed
Which reminded me of my childhood in this house
After the first sleep, lying in bed and hearing the wind

And the waves of the sea in a seraphic duo. I was
Carried away by this melody, where I felt at peace
I was immersed, buried in a thaumaturgical dream.

I could envision the waves of the Caribbean Sea
Caressing the white sands. I was pretty much at ease
Like a senior member of the cacique's paradise.
