The Song Of Life: 32. Yoga Is Excellence In Karma Poem by Aniruddha Pathak

The Song Of Life: 32. Yoga Is Excellence In Karma

The wise endowed with even-tempered will
Rid all deeds here— good and evil,
Engage thou in a yogic creed,
Yoga is skill in karma indeed. || 2.50 ||

Here is the transliteration with the meanings of Sanskrit words:

buddhi-yuktah jahāti iha ubhe sukŗta-duśhkŗte |
tasmāt yogāya yujyasva yogah karmasu kaushalam ||

buddhi-yuktah: one endowed with intellect/insight/wisdom, one with equipoise of mind
jahāti iha: (he) sheds here, casts off here(in life)
ubhe: both
sukŗta-: good deeds
duśhkŗte: (and) evil deeds
tasmāt: therefore
yogāya: to yoga (refers to karma-yoga)
yujyasva: do thou yoke/devote thyself
yogah: yoga (of intellect, of equal mind)
karmasu: in action, in deeds
kaushalam: skill, excellence, (efficiency plus effectiveness) , being one with the work.

Note: The verses # 2.47 to 2.50 construct a definition of karma. The verse 2.47 talks about how not to do karma, while the verse 2.48, how one should do his karma.
