Rating: 5.0

I am a rain drop flopped down from the clouds
I could have landed in a river or the sea
Then merging with the rising and receding tides
I would have been washed down into oblivion

I love how you were able to compare the work of a rain drop to that of a teacher who can help grow beautiful and powerful minds. Minds that will lead a new generation. There are so many possibilites and places for the raindrop to fall...but to find that fecund soil is a true gift. Thanks for sharing Valsa.

well, I rarely think in terms of ………….what do you call them? …hmm, similes, metaphors, using “those things”. call it unliteralism? ? and I was not doing that with your poem until the last two lines. ok, I get it, but I liked the story better when interpreted literally, as drops of rain ending up in different places. of course each drop of water which does not land to nourish seeds still has a chance at a later date, though maybe each drop will be composed of different water molecules than the first drops? ? ? I never thought of that before. either way, I like the poem a lot and send it to MyPoemList. bri :)

A teacher facilitates seeds to grow. A teacher sows seeds of learning. Beautifully put in the poem through a falling rain drop.

I feel I am there in each leaf and bud With my essence flowing through every vein! Loved the lines. Nothing could be more satisfying than that.

Beautiful poem written from a teacher's point of me. It is also true our stories are like rain drops too shaped and advanced by unknown hands as well as by our own workings and essential traits. Enjoyed very much. Can't read the Urdu script but the original poem must be a beauty in its sounds.

What more pleasure than what one derives seeing a seedling emerges, grows matures and serves it's kind by receiving the drop one put on the seed! I am too being in the same boat as you, derive similar satisfaction by seeing those who leaned even the simplest thing in life from me, doing fair. Wonderful thoughts Valsa!

Cycle of knowledge, knowledge that is passed from one to another and so on continues for ever. It is seen in the men who appear in the society like leaves, like flowers, like fruits with the seeds to continue the cycle. Yes a teacher is a rain drop and her teachings are a melody having waves that go on spreading. A nice write, no surprise, it's a poem by Valsa.............10
