Finding a blind alley in life is a situation experienced by almost all the people at one or the other time...therein lies the universality of the lines and images...but i don't understand the tense-agreement of the title and the poem...there must be some reason for sure, as these days my interpretation is not in tune! a good poem one can relate to his own situation!

When the third wing begins to sprout, to your dismay you find that there is no sky left for you! How sad! This is the paradox of life! Lack of space and no foothold leave many distressed! You are the voice of such! Excellent metaphoric representation!
