The Silent People Poem by Skylark Woodrow

The Silent People

The silent are the dangerous,
The silent are the threat;
Of them you know not.
In their silence they can plan,
In their silence they can fester.
Their emotions are on the inside;
Safe from any prying eyes.
Their actions have hidden reasons;
Kindness can kill,
Soft eyes hide hatred,
Weakness conceals strength.
Things are not as though they may seem;
Perhaps this is why we must single them out,
Whisper amongst ourselves as they pass by,
Make them the butt of our jokes,
Bully them until they want to die.
But wait,
Sometimes they try to fight back.
They might pipe up and call you out,
They might try to protect themselves;
So we crack down on them even harder,
Bully them until they decide to die.
Then,
We tell ourselves we had nothing to do with it.
