The Silence Of Love Poem by Royston Nella

The Silence Of Love

Rating: 5.0

Before the Sanhedrin, He spoke no word,
and from His mouth no sound was to be heard.
Silent as a mute not a word was said,
as to the cruel cross Jesus was led.

His lips were hushed and from them came no sound,
although in His defence nothing was found.
As a lamb before its slaughter is dumb,
so from His lips not a word was to come.

Ten thousand angels waited for one word,
but He did not speak and nothing was heard.
For only by silence and submission,
was He to complete salvation's mission.

Wordlessly before the rabble He stood
and from His lips only quietness was heard.
This silence, mightier than any word
sounded as loud as if it had thundered.

Those gathered there did not understand why,
He kept so silent and did not reply.
Then, on the cross His silence was broken.
'Father, forgive them.' were the words spoken.

Most powerful message on how He loved us all, not just believed in Him, but those who were bent upon to harm Him. For, he loved us all, so did he pray to forgive our sins. Lovely poem, beautiful rhyme scheme and quite rhythmic. Full score.
