The Show Man Poem by Dorsey Baker

The Show Man

The corners of his eyes
looked caulky from the
make up he was wearing
and his fur coat
made him appear small
skinny and all
his nose seemed too large
for the size of his face
he danced by himself
to the music
long dark hair hung down
from his overweight head
down to the tip of his back
his lips curled around
a glass of wine
he wore a neckless
of white pearls
and his pants fit him
much too tight
he definitely
stood out in a crowd!
