The Seafarer Poem by Wangchat konyak

The Seafarer

I am but a seafarer
Sailing across the ocean blue;
I don't know if I could sail fair,
I just proceed to row afresh.
I wonder if the gust is harsh?
Is the route a lonely one?
And the waves strange?
Across the ocean brine
I am to sail.
The cloud is grey and
The storm in my boat.
I foresee my mother's prayer.
I wonder if I could keep
The vows I made?
On a distant shore
My aged mother awaits;
I wonder if I could return intact.
I am but a seafarer
Across the ocean brine
I am to sail;
Even if I could not cross the blue;
Perhaps, my mother would understand.
