The Scum Comments

Rating: 4.6

(This is based on a true incident. Of how a mother asked her lover to kill her own husband and child, so that they can elope and lead a life together. he has been given capital punishment and she, double life terms. But irrespective of all that, the incident created a huge shock, as I still cant imagine how a mother can kill her own 4 year old child for carnal pleasures.) .

What is it this thing called love

Hi Sankar, That is a haunting poem. To pen that she would be haunted by the last cries of her little one! But, what about the man, her paramour, who entered into the pact with her, to do the heneous crime, as you said 'for his carnal pleasures'? As Geeta has rightly mentioned below, it is a hair-raising incident and shocking to read it in the newspapers. Marvellous write. Keep shaing.

A frightening and hair raising story! Shocked to know that it is a true story. Extremely difficult and painful to know that a mother and a wife would crush her own kin to death. You are are right, Sir! Oh! The human mind in its grotesque ways Can be filled with such evil and greed That to call them animals would put those gentle Beasts to shame indeed Most effectively narrated through a fabulous poem. Full score.....

Animals wouldn't commit such evil acts, I feel. Only humans behave worse than animals. This type of crimes are heard from allover the world and for them no barrier exists, it seems. Still, nature will see to it that such criminals surely pay for their sins. Thanks SK, for sharing.

A heart-rending tale, so beautifully narrated in poetic verses. Only a poet can see and understand a tale like this and give it the sensitive treatment it deserves.

Yes, Amar. Having seen motherhood as the highest of all states, I just could not reconcile to the fact that a mother did this. Which is why, though the murders were committed by her lover, I find her more guilty. Thanks for your feedback

Unfortunately the evil of acts like this continues on and has done so since Cain struck down his own brother out of jealousy. It speaks well for the human race that 99.9% of human souls are repelled by a Mother taking her own child's life. There can be no more heinous or repugnant act that we can imagine or allow ourselves to imagine.

Absolutely Susan, I never thought there could be a mother who could do this. And one should see the photo of the 4 year old child. So sweet and innocent.

Very inhumane act by so called humans. Both are equally guilty, life is full of such heinous examples. Nicely written poem, Congrats for the Poem of the day.

Thank You Mohammed for your wishes. Both are guilty, but as a Mother, she is more guilty is what I feel.

The narrative is sad and shocking where a mother is blinded by her carnal desires so much so that she gets her husband and child killed. The poet has painted it as a plot of good v/s evil. Even the vilest of animals in the forests wild Would guard their offspring till their death
