On Calvary's hill, a sacrifice was made,
Jesus, the Lamb of God, for our sins was slain.
With love that's pure, and a heart that's true,
He gave His life, to see us through.
'Oh, the depth of the riches of the wisdom and knowledge of God! ' (Romans 11: 33)
For God so loved the world, that He gave His only Son (John 3: 16)
To die for our transgressions, to rise for our justification (Romans 4: 25)
With every nail, with every scar,
Jesus showed us love, that's near and far.
He bore our sins, our shame, our pain,
And gave us life, eternal life to gain.
'But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.' (Romans 5: 8)
'For Christ's love compels us, because we are convinced that one died for all, and therefore all died.' (2 Corinthians 5: 14)
Oh, Jesus, our Savior, our Lord, our Friend,
Your love for us, will never end.
You sacrificed all, to save us from sin,
And now we can live, with hearts that win.
'We love because he first loved us.' (1 John 4: 19)
'Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one's life for one's friends.' (John 15: 13)
