hard prickles... is the other side for the beauty of Rose, or the evil side of it? as Charles Baudelaire called it 'the flowers of evil' , but any way I think our beloved poet Rose, so harmless and peaceful, well done 10+ and onto my list

and indeed the prickles are to protect the plant (the rose) against animals but that doesn't stop rabbits and deer from nibbling on the leaves, stems and flowers. A well deserved poem to be comprehended in more than one way. Absolute my highest appreciations for this loveliest in-depth poem, excelling in simplicity God´s Blessings be upon you and your beloved family. Amen.
with the conclusion about a young girl who has not yet had a life experience and the thorns represent: defense, physicality, loss and thoughtlessness. A short but laden poem and can be interpreted in different ways. A true fascinating poem I enjoyed very much reading this profound poem about this innocent rose. A 10 Full Score and much much more
When an adjective is added to a noun that is only for living beings, the object has become a subjective metaphor, therefore the rose is now humanized and indeed the innocent rose cannot withstand predators,
Short and to the point. Thought provoking drop. Loved it. Thanks for sharing.10++++
Prickles protect a rose. A woman is protected by a little proud and a little rudeness. A woman is a rose and her prickles are proud and rudeness. If she lacks these two qualities she becomes a commodity in the hands of men.
A lovely thought open to a lot of reactions as one can see from the feedback/comments. A small poem with a great insight indeed.
The rose! ! 🌺 Beauty of its colour, 🖋🌷 Muse of nature, 📚 Thanks for sharing this poem with us.

Hi, The sharp thorns may, seemingly, ward off predators. But, alas! No! To a lovely fragrant rose, prickles offer no protection. The thorns just remind us that a thing of beauty comes with a sharp thorn hidden behind...Beware! , !
Magnificent piece.... thank u...Rose Marie...
