The rock cries out today, you may stand on me, But do not hide your face. Across the wall of the world, A river sings a beautiful song, Come rest here by my side. very courageous and bold are you dear Maya. tony

the Rock cries out to us, clearly, forcefully, Come, you may stand upon my Back and face your distant destiny, But seek no haven in my shadow. I will give you no hiding place down here... a soul that cries out to the world. so i have always understood Angelou. tony

Pregnant with power and possibility! A creative and compelling composition. Even better spoken than written. The dream of a great poet for her country, America. A dream yet to be realized. This poem was first done in 1993 at Bill Clinton's Presidential inaugural ceremony. It is called On the Pulse of the Morning. A great poem!
