The River's Generosity Poem by LeeAnn Azzopardi

The River's Generosity

Rating: 5.0

The river's generosity gives its calmness to me
After a day of traffic and other disasters
At dusk, the silence is a joy
As the stars appear one at a time
To light my soul anew
I fall onto the bed with closed eyes
Dreaming of the river's composure
As I wait for a new day
My heart sinks into the river
With a hope of change

Rivers hold the imagination. I often sit on the bank of my local river with my dog watching it flow by.5*

LeeAnn, this poem is as relaxing as a river. I love small rivers with gentle flows, and nice calm pools of water behind big rocks, where hungry trout are waiting for my baited hook! Ooooh, that sounds like the beginning of a new poem! Thanks, LeeAnn!
