Dear madam, you have aptly made here a touching inscription on river from its historical back ground to nature's gifts at present. River cherishes people and trees beside its bank. She quenches the thirst and cleanses the filth, . But people make her dirty and poisonous. A vivid picture of a river is presented here. Nice poem.
even a lifeline man pollutes a bold and lively write thanks Valsa-10
I thought (in india) fishes dive and grown ups breed! ? Ok! ! It is true EVERYWHERE. Birds or birds' ? A mix of good and bad for the old river, bless her watery heart. Bri :)
In summer she is meek and mild, But Oh! In rain she snarls and growls, Thus in turn she smiles and frowns, And continues to travel miles and miles. A beautiful description of a river.
On 7th September 2014, the river 'Jehlum' in Kashmir flooded the entire valley. My city Srinagar was the worst hit. Hundreds perished and thousands lost their homes, including me. I saw death up close that day. My point is man pollutes the planted but he does not think of the consequences and nature finds a way to cleanse itself. A great write that I enjoyed most, Valsa. Also reminds me of my favourite song 'The River' by Bruce Springsteen. Thank You.
I remember that mishap still so clearly. One of our friends and family, a tourist to Kashmir got stranded there by the flood! It was a traumatic experience, he said! It was so unfortunate that you lost your house! I can imagine the depth of sorrow of those who lose their dear ones and belongings in such natural calamities!
Beautifully penned ma'am. The imagery created by the write up is very clear on my eyes! the comparisons and similes brought in here are wonderful!
A grand portrayal of the river, the lifeline of mankind.
A powerful, insightful and encompassing write on Rivers. It expresses with great imagery and in beautiful detail the attributes and importance of rivers. Liked the ultimate and penultimate stanzas which consist of very perceptive lines. A great poem as always. Five Stars! ! !
