The River Poem by Jennifer Birchall

The River

Rating: 4.6

Remaining tight lipped
So words can not flood
While the barrier feels strong
Small drops could cause slight damage
If the river burst it's banks
Devastation would be extensive
Please no more rain
This barricade can only hold so much

Jen, an excellent poem that illustrates to me what you are having to hold in and deal with yourself, to protect others - putting yourself second as ever. Strong lady, strong dam. , you’re good! X.

Dear Tony, the barricade is me holding onto my words because if I say what's in my mind it would have huge consequences. So I stay silent. Thank you for you kind words.
