They desperately flee for their lives from terror and war, leaving behind their homes, homelands, assets and their livelihood.Innocent men and women, , young and old, but what they meet in the roads and high seas is cruel fate mostly the result of actions of our so called civilized society. It is really a blot on humanity. We should care for the innocents, care for human lives as it is one of the basic human value.Your poem expresses concern for these hapless people. Thanks for sharing.

Great poem about one of the burning issues of our time. Why is the response so slow from wielders of power? Thanks for adding the voice of wordsmiths to the growing solidarity with refugees.

The refugee situation unfolds before our eyes on national TV. Countries unable to cope is a crying shame. Have a look at my Elegy for a Drowned Child. It says the same. Good work.
