The Real Me Poem by Silly Artist

The Real Me

The raging fire consumes me
The mask I hid behind melts away
The real me is for all to see
And my lies shine as bright as day
Oh my tales were as tall as the heavens
And so much trickery it must be a crime
I was another person amongst my brethren
Yet I was behind that mask all that time
Why I did it, I do not know
But maybe not to face who I am
This real me remained caged up
And the masked me didn't give a damn
But as the fire drew closer to me
I turned towards myself
In my mind I counted to three
And then screamed out 'HELP! ! ! '

Very interesting. I think we all hide behind a mask, or two, or three, haha. There are instances, sometimes so short, so sudden, that allow glimpses of the real face we all have hidden away. I really like this one, it makes me think.
