The Rainbow
The rainbow did not appear
With prior notice
I was lucky enough
To be there when it did
It disappeared
In the blink of an eye
Leaving an empty
Open sky
I could not believe
It was there, a moment ago
And went out
In a blaze of glory
Filling my heart
With wonder
Filling my eyes
With dreams
I felt a little empty and colourless
When it went
Like the sky
Whose pain I deeply felt
