A world at war, where countries collide,
With nowhere for the truth to hide.
The engines of power are loud and deep,
While the promises they made us, they never keep.
They talk of borders, they talk of the line,
But no one is listening to yours or to mine.
We've walked through the silence of lockdown's glare,
We've carried the weight of the Covid scare.
We stood on our doorsteps, we waited in line,
Told that 'together' we'd all be fine.
But the unity we sought in the eye of the storm,
Was traded for profit and keeping them warm.
The people are calling for a different way,
To mend the world's fractures and start a new day.
But the government's eyes are on silver and gold,
Buying the future while we're left in the cold.
They're chasing the money, the power, the gain,
While ignoring the collective and constant pain.
We want to be human, we want to be one,
To stand in the light of a kinder sun.
But until they listen, until they care,
We'll keep our voices alive in the air.
For the world is more than a price or a trade—
It's the home of the people, and the lives we have made.
