The last eight lines could be a poem in itself. I could reflect on what is there for an hour, doing my creative interface with this ironic view of the prison as a refuge - not bondage. It's like a bird cage for a canary: We think, Oh, the poor bird is behind bars. But the canary is thinking, Boy I.m glad those bars protect me from those loud, obnoxious people. (I know canaries- they're really very happy,) // My point for what it's worth is that you are writing a medley of poems in these long vertical works. If you broke therm up into smaller units, they would be easier to comprehend, but then you'd lose your distinctive appearance in the Long Skinny Line.
