Though not all the forest long and wide,
Her love's not limited to the pride.
A field is widely tilled
That her cubs not get killed,
A mother swallows here her red pride.
Wonder who'd hold together
This world, if there's no mother!

Wildlife Institute of India experts have been analysing behaviour of lion prides for over a decade in Gir (in Gujarat, India)forests and around, and find that inter-pride mating is a recent trend. This way the cubs born are protected not only by the pride of the lioness, but also by other dominating male lions from around.
