Stand by me, Oh God,
Stand by me!
The road is long and wild
The weather is not always mild
Sometimes hope abandons
And despair sets in
When the going gets tough
And the weather gets rough
There are dreams
I hold dear
There are values
Whose loss I fear
They give meaning
To my life
I hold onto them
Through all the strife
With Your presence
