The Poets of PH rise and fall,
Appear and disappear, one and all
A few have staying power, and stand tall
Some stay the course, but not all.

Well said my friend. A very relatable poem. I like the rhyme at the end. :)
True, writers contribute to this site for many varied reason. Your poem was both informative and humorous as our intentions are not all the same. But let it be a long time before any of our works are archived.
A hearty Amen to that, Cap'n! But I have friends on here who've been on here much longer than I, and many of THEIR original friends haven't posted or commented in YEARS. And then you look at their ages, and do the math.... We already have older members on here who are archived. Though not famous classical, poets, some of them are quite talented. But I agree with you, let us continue taking vitamins and working out, and churning out really good poetry!
It has been so nicely delineated about the poets and poetesses of Poem Hunter on their activities. Some fall and some rise. Some are anxious for fame and some recall their name and some those who were dead, their poems are on this site archived. A great write!
Thank you, Kumarmani! There are a multitude of reasons for being on this site, but it all begins with a love of poetry! :)
Many thanks to you, Louis! (Muchas Gracias!) PH poets come and go. But a more colourful bunch, you'll never know (apart from this site!)
goodly penned = nice expression // This site is not solely for talent.
Thank you, Mahtab! This site attracts a wide variety of people, for many reasons. But most of us share a deep love and appreciation of poetry. Some are here to write it, and some are here to read and enjoy the works of others. Thanks for commenting! :)
and this happens to all all don't have same staying power o poetess
Well expressed. Trolls drive many off through this uncontrolled mechanism. No other site would be so stupid to have it. Boosts revenue as it's a business model. It is not altruistic in any sense. A very poorly controlled site.
I liked this very much. Short, simple but very thought provoking. The last two lines are a great summation.
Thank you, Ray, for commenting. Also, thank you for being one who has stayed the course, and not quit! It's been said that poets seek to leave a legacy, and that they seek immortality through their poetry. If true, they achieve a degree of that by having their work on this site!
