You mad a bad case for the poet`s dilemma or job. If poems are not to be understood, all poetry would have the same value. A Shakespeare would be the same than a mediocre poet, and any nonsense would pass for poetry
The poet's Dilemma is indeed a triumph for poetry. As it pinpoint the difficult circumstance poets and poetesses encounter yet new poems are written daily.
