The Poet Who Gives Poem by Yousif Ibrahim Abubaker Abdalla

The Poet Who Gives

Sami walks, Sami walks,
In halls of wisdom, in halls of light.
Sami speaks, Sami speaks,
His words take flight, his words take flight.
PhD in hand, PhD in hand,
Drama, poetry, literature's land.
A scholar, a poet, a guide, a flame,
A scholar, a poet, we call his name.
He gives, he gives, he gives, he gives,
Though not rich, yet his heart forgives.
To the needy, to the lost, to the small,
To the needy, to the lost, he gives his all.
Brother, brother, brother near,
Brother, brother, heart so clear.
Through every verse, through every line,
Through every verse, through every line,
We feel his light, we feel his shine.
Sami Khalil, Sami Khalil,
A flame, a guide, beyond all skill.
Sami walks, Sami speaks,
His spirit strong, his spirit peaks.
He gives, he gives, he gives, he gives,
A heart of gold, in how he lives.
Sami Khalil, Sami Khalil,
Brother, poet, heart of will
