The Poet Sings Poem by Kai van Tonder

The Poet Sings

She sings of beauty like lambent evenfall
settling over undulent crystals of water,
She sings to the breeze of a love
that emblossomed her heart
with diaphanous breath of life's creation

Although their love deemed transient
like serein on a winter's night,
They swim in valour as dichotomy irradiates
the fickle feeling of love and hate,
unfettered as the wind

And though she would defy
all odds of fair scrutiny,
They continue to atone and cohere
to form a love of kind

A love of chivalry and reprieve,
A love of defiance and fury,
A love to invoke zephyr
just like serein from before,
A love to build trust
and a love to break it down again
