An insight depiction of the profundity of a poem, well articulated and nicely brought forth with conviction. A lovely piece indeed. Thanks for sharing Tapera.

Love how you explain your presence behind each shadow, sentiment, mood, flesh, boot all making up the poem in the end. Enlightening and sublime, love this poem. Thank you for sharing. RoseAnn

This reminds me of a spoken soliloquy in a play. “I AM THE POEM! ” In this piece, short on words, and thick with meaning, we are introduced to the multi-factorial definition of a poem. “Where light encounters wall/And fails to penetrate/I am the shadow….” You allude to the imagery of poetry and its impact on the senses, the sight and the sound. You write, “where sword rips open flesh, I am the blood, The wound, The pus, The scar….” Which speaks to the drama, and the heart of poetry in my mind. Finally, I think my favorite line is, “Where boot treads ground/I am the footprint” This line speaks volumes to me in that the footprint is an impression of something but not the actual thing. This is the first time I have come across your poetry… and so glad I did. Nicely penned.

This poem is very satisfying to me. I love poems of self identity that approach the subject indirectly, that is, the poet uses the details of the environment to represent the individual's nature, and you throw out a wide net and pull in so much of the world to describe the self, both self and world are vibrantly present. This message is my enthusiastic response to the impact of your poem. There are many details I have not even cited which are remarkable.
