The Perfect Image Poem by Marilyn Lott

The Perfect Image

She was beautiful, I was mesmerized
For she simply took my breath away
Swollen now, for she was with child
She was more lovely than I could say.

Thoughts of baby went through her head
For of course it had to be
I know when I was swollen with child
That's the way it was for me.

I pictured her in Parent magazine
The perfect pregnant one
Her photo jumping off of the pages
As she waited for a daughter or son.

A time that lives for only 9 months
For it was such a natural stage
This mom to be was simply lovely
She was truly the perfect image!
