The Perennial Tragedy Poem by abu tarek md tahsin

The Perennial Tragedy

Rating: 5.0

It was a Sunday Once
Along a well trodden path
Where flowers bloomed
And friends held hands

In a land not far from here
The church bells did ring
And the warm breeze carried
The sound of the Mosques

Where children played
And folks old and young
were happy in their own ways

It was so
Until an evil came
To steal their peace

Some say he was just a shoe maker
Some say a hard-line politician
But most agree that he was
Nothing but a lunatic
Who wanted more power

He destroyed the peace
and divided the world
In a land not far from here

And the Church bells stopped chiming
and the Mosques started burning
As the evil monster kept conniving

People started hating
while the gods above
Took away their blessings

That is how slowly and slowly
The world did become
A perennial Tragedy
