The Passing Quests - Alexis Karpouzos Poem by Alexis karpouzos

The Passing Quests - Alexis Karpouzos

We walk the world as passing guests
With time as both our gift and test.
The trees don't grow to serve our will
Nor rivers run so we can fill
The breath we take is not our own
But loaned like light the moon has known
Our heartbeat is a drumbeat lent
A rhythm written, not invent.
