The Passing Of A Year Poem by Amar Agarwala

The Passing Of A Year

You know it all yet like to hear,
The coming and going of a year;
You're wished and then you wish all back,
Those far, those close and all those dear.

To yet know what it has for you,
Know each one of us will get his due;
In laughter and a tear or two,
Like every year, it's nothing new.

On days you'll wish that time stands still,
Others to fleet if you had your will;
You'll pray and curse on certain days,
Times they'll be just run of the mill.

The year will let you see it all,
It will make you stand, it will make you fall;
You'll see birthdays, you'll watch death days,
Weddings big and gatherings small.

At the end you'll say time does fly
Which is half a truth and half a lie;
It'll leave behind in moments small,
Fond memories that you may spy.

My work is a reflection of the verses written by Ella Wheeler Wilcox, THE YEAR. Besides, I wanted to convey my heart-felt wishes to my entire fraternity of poets for their continued wonderful work and also this website - POEM HUNTER, which gives such a wonderful platform to all poets... experienced and aspiring to display their work.

Best wishes for 2017!

Like any year in the past this year will also pass with its joy and hardships. Very nice. Loved it.
