The Parent Bird Didn't Come Today. Poem by SY Wong ...

The Parent Bird Didn't Come Today.

In my backyard I place an artificial nest.
In no time a pair came to brood.
Yesterday I saw the chicks with open mouth.
and the mother bird were feeding them.

But today the bird didn't come.
I presume the chicks were hungry and waiting.
I felt sorry because the bird didn't turn up.
I wonder what'd happen.
Did she gave up
or was she the victim also?
Maybe she can never be there for her chicks.
