The Pang Of A Broom Poem by Namita Rani Panda

The Pang Of A Broom

A bubbly broom I am with a rough husk skirt
I go on cleaning the dirt from your dusty heart
I remove the cobwebs of worries from your mind
Sweep away your pains like a faithful friend.
I am an ever-active broom that sprints day and night
To make your floor as well as fate clean and bright
To ensure your each step to be safer and secured
As I wish you in every respect to march forward.
I never mind being hidden in the darkest corner
As I'm considered inauspicious though a devoted worker
When reduced to a stump kicked out of the door
My selfless service no-one remembers ever
Still I never hesitate to serve you ever better
I kindle myself to keep you warm in chilly winter
Anxiously I wait for a time if ever anyone hoist a broom
To keep clean the outer as well as inner chambers for generations to come.
