Lovely poem that takes me to my childhood days! It is really how innocently children believe that animals talk to one another and an owl and a cat can marry and they need a wedding ring.Loved Edward Lear's poems.

very good poem for kids

I'm not normally very good at " seeing" a picture of a poem, but even without a picture book, I can see this. It's one of my favourite poems and my cat purrs when I recite it to him. He's not so keen on " Jabberwocky" though, which is also one of my favourites.

First heard this poem in grade school. Remberef most of it sorry the don't read poems in school anymore.children are missing a lot of good things in school today. I rembered it and I am 82 years young.

One of the best nonsense poems ever. Just clean, plain wacky fun!

Why, sure it is a beauty! It's a classic! I'm sure all Brits have heard it before at least once. I remember there was a stage version performed on a river barge at the time of the London Olympics. I love it for many reasons, not the least because it's just plain fun in its inimitable naive way.
