(Written for one of my greatest fans ever: : : Lori)
It's always a day like a beautiful sunset with colors so bright like rose, violet, and sapphire.
And the nights are so warm and lovely like the bright stars that shine and never stop.
In the echoes from these days and nights is a memory of warm, true, never-ending feeling.
As the happiness fades from the corners of yesterday, I feel the loneliness and utter despair of today.
It's like a mountain, so rugged and worn that no one can climb it, but all who see it long to feel it and become it.
And as the tide spins out of the corners of this heartbroken mind, I hear the calling of what-might-been and what-used-to-be.
And I can never understand why this has happened and why the world is changing around me.
And like a waterfall, I let the tears flow until I have a puddle of pain which soon forms a lovely pond.
But beneath the loveliness lies the ugly truth of a harsh wind which throws spirals of dirt upon my face and restrains me from my destiny.
And as I walk down the path of life, I can only survive on 'Ifs' and 'Maybes.'
And like this poem, it all must come to an end somewhere; and happiness can only begin on the other side of despair.
