The Other Half Of The Simile

Rating: 5.0

The litter scattered through the house
is like the sands of the Sahara
that somehow stealthily sneak
surreptitiously past my windowsills
and spread, unbidden and unwelcome
all over my domain.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
Glen Kappy's latest poem is called 'Half a Simile Looking for its Mate'. He tells about how cat litter is getting spread all over his house and invited other poets to make a comparison to what it is like. This is my attempt to do so. I also left it as a comment on his poem. Thanks, Glen, for the inspiration!

Compelling images and great analogy. I can see the litter and sands scattered through your house.

It's nice to know where the idea for that poem came from. I was trying to picture your house with all that sand or litter!
