The Old Victorian Scrap Book Poem by Shaun Cronick

The Old Victorian Scrap Book

Rating: 5.0

The old Victorian scrap book,
I purchased for a song.
Is filled with happy memories,
From many years long gone.

Real flowers found inside it,
Firmly flattened between each page.
Still fragrant and so colourful,
Timeless treasures of that age.

Pictures of new born babies,
From a lineage that is regal.
And a buff newspaper cutting,
Depicting a mighty golden eagle.

So filled from page to page,
Of events historic in nature.
Also many pictures of Victoria,
A queen frozen in portraiture.

Don't bother making an offer,
For this I will never sell.
Old memories to keep forever,
That only time could tell.

Colours still rich and vibrant,
A joy to hold and behold.
When life was so much simpler,
In this book of timeless gold.
