I came to this poem wanting to like it because another poet, whose work I liked, had alluded to it. But it's pretty weak. Just a series rather unjustified/unearned and ultimately uninteresting assumptions the poet projects onto the lizard. In other words, iguana like it, but even the Geico gecko found it effete and presumptuous.
Thus proving that a poet can take any topic and turn it into a powerful work of art
What are you seeking in the path, my near-sighted philosopher, if the wavering phantasm of the parched afternoon has broken the horizon? very good poem. tony
